Branching Out & Update

Hello my good folk! It's been a minute since I've posted but there's still plenty of content being curated. Todays post is a bit short as I'm here to announce my new Facebook page, TRC Music ! I'll be cross posting playlists and regular posts on there as well as some exclusive content to that page. This page will be an easier way for me to post individual songs as well. I hope you'll join me on the journey and like the page! Monthly roundup coming soon. It's been a really cool month for music so stay tuned!  Peace!

September Round Up

2020, 2020 never changes. You can interpret that as you may but needless to say it's been a crazy year for all of us. September's playlist is a bit shorter than other months, but that's mostly because I've been jamming along to a playlist that I'll share eventually. It may be fine tuned by then but let's get into the roundup for now! ERRA- Snowblood There's something truly impactful with ERRA's music and one of those characteristics is the perfect blend of chaos and some of my favorite clean vocals. Snowblood is nothing short of the pure excellent content they've released in the past. I've already mentioned their album Drift in previous posts, and they're just really great in my opinion. Miles Paralysis- Volcano Blending some twinkly math rock and alt-pop sounding vocals, Miles Paralysis is really fun to listen to. The instrumental work flows so well and compliments the vocals perfectly. Nothing is also a reall...

Float

Is it a feeling? Is it serotonin? It's both. A mental cascade of weightlessness brought forth from atmospheric sounds.  Today's post is a bit random from the stream of things posted previously, but I feel that it's a nice touch on a nice realm of music; or at least a piece of it. Let's get into some songs and albums that will you give you the sense of weightlessness and peace. Explosions In The Sky- The Wilderness I don't want to drown this article with post-rock, but Explosions In The Sky is superb in providing that introspective tranquility. Some songs like Logic of a Dream are enchanting but more jarring. Not good for a sense of floating but still atmospheric and sense tingling. Losing the Light and Landing Cliffs are 2 of my favorites when I want to feel weightless and just float with the progression of the song. ERRA- Drift ERRA is a progressive metalcore band with a lot of craziness going on. The song Drift off the album of the s...

August Round Up

Eyyo folk, round and round we go. This year's been wacky as hell and music has been a nice vessle to some sense of normalcy amidst everything. There's a lot of different tastes in this month's round up but I'll be going over just a few of em. Let's go! Shreddy Krueger- Heathen One of the reasons I love post hardcore so much is when bands have a powerful and moving clean vocalist that can carry melodies amongst the musical chaos. Shreddy Krueger has been big on my playlists lately and Heathen is a prime example of why I enjoy them so much. In Ruin is my most listened but I think Heathen is my favorite vocally. I get some nice Periphery vibes. The Fall Of Troy- Chain Wallet, Nike Shoes I'll be honest, I'm not a big listener of The Fall of Troy. I certainly appreciate their older work and F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X gained mass appeal so they're definitely something special. I randomly flipped through their newest release and stumbled upon this ...

Album Grab Bin #1 And Some Cool Stuff!

Sweet, something unique to post! One part of this post will be a recurring but more spread apart thread of posts. Along with playlists I'll do 20-25 album "grab bins" where each image will be based on a specific topic or genre.  The inaugural grab bin post is a collection of albums that I especially enjoy. Some are newer and some I've listened to for years. The genre differentiation is a bit more prevalent in my opinion. I highly recommend checking all of these out!  I must say though, I eyeballed these album covers together on my phone and it looks kind of meh. Apologies for that one. Below I'll be linking each album left to right, top to bottom. But first, on to the next part of this post! I recently visited a record store again since the pandemic started back in March. I love to collect CDs here and there, and I recently picked up a few. Below is a link to my Discog Collection where you can view the physical media...

July Roundup

Hey y'all! It's that time once again. Another month down and it's time to post my monthly playlist for July. This month has been chaotic as well as a starting point for other playlists such as my last post on EDM. Anywho lets dive in now! Properties of Nature- Sorry Excuse I know it's quite surprising to have another Swancore artist at the top of my roundup, but Properties of Nature are smooth and I've been stuck singing along to Sorry Excuse as well as Giraffulo . Their sound and vibes they give off could be heavily associated with A Lot Like Birds although ALLB are more technical instrumentally.  Happy Hour- Sorry, I Only Drink Guinness Oh yeah, another one. While Happy Hour would also be considered Swancore, they sound much more similar to DGD than Properties of Nature. On a side note I absolutely love that quick drum intro. If you're a fan of Jon Mess the song Dreamcast Trash will give you some sweet vibes as w...

TRC Playlist: EDM

As stated in my previous post, I mentioned building some playlists aside from my monthly roundups. Today it'll be the sweet genre of EDM as a whole. Most of these genre playlists will be more long term projects but building a nice playlist of some of my favorites over the years has been quite easy. These playlists will be added to moving forward but the meat & bones will be there at the time of posting.  EDM Super Playlist credit: panthernow.com As someone who not only loves music, I love the effects of sound in general. EDM is the most diverse in terms of variance in sound and frequencies blended perfectly together. My introduction to the genre in depth was probably in 2011. Shortly thereafter I stumbled upon Savant in some forums and he definitely shaped my affinity for the craft. Savant essentially does everything and does it so well that when I got the chance to see him in 2014, he mixed like 40 of his songs into a 15 minute hype fest and was the bes...
